Tony Prins is currently based in Potchefstroom, North West Province in his capacity as Assistant Director for the North West Dept of Sports, Arts & Culture.

He holds a Diploma in Education and served on the Board of Footy South Africa (2001-2004) before it became AFLSA. He has continued his involvement as a Director with AFL South Africa.

Prins likes hiking, badminton, squash, athletics and veterans football.
