Dr. Ruth Mompati District Municipality previously known as Bophirima Regional Municipality is the municipality responsible for local governance of one of the four’s North West Regions. Their involvement in footy started way back in 2002 helping the local clubs from Christiana, Schweizer-Reneke, Morokweng, Ganyesa and Vryburg with transport and match day expenses. The municipality also supported other major Footy events such as farewells for players going to Australia for different tours including the International Cup, hosted the 3rd leg of the Geelong College (Australia) vs. Bophirima AFL squad in 2007, North West Provincial Championships and National Championships.
