NURTURE OUR YOUTH

Monash is Australia's most internationalised university. It has eight campuses including one in Johannesburg, South Africa. The Monash South Africa / AFL South Africa relationship extends across a range of mutually beneficial projects including a Saturday morning footyWILD program for neighbouring township kids which has been run on-campus by the Monash SA volunteer network.

In 2009, Monash were engaged in a pilot program designed to introduce Johannesburg footyWILD volunteers to a series of 'job-ready' modules, preparing them for work or further study beyond the footyWILD framework. There are also plans in the pipeline to establish a dedicated AFL ground at the campus, which if successful will make it South Africa's first truly Australian Rules Football hub.
AusAID, the Australian Government's overseas aid program is a federally funded program that aims to reduce poverty in developing countries. The Australian Government, through AusAID, provides grant funding to support AFL South Africa’s development ‘off the field’. AusAID contributes to AFL South Africa’s ‘People and Culture’ program which provides training and capacity building opportunities for the growing number of AFL South Africa staff and volunteers.
BlueScope Steel, through leading brands Zincalume and Clean Colorbond, have been proud partners of the footyWILD Competition in the Western Cape since 2009. In 2012, the partnership is set to extend to additional support of youth development across South Africa via the Geminder Youth Academy & Scholarship program.

BlueScope General Manager Australian Wayne Miller continues to display his passion for the game at every level imaginable, prividing invaluable coaching support to players and young coaches alike at both local, Provincial and National events.
Business Club Australia (BCA) is the Australian Government’s official business networking program around major international sporting events. The program is led by the Australian Government’s trade and investment development agency, Austrade.

In 2010 the BCA program coincided with the FIFA World Cup held in South Africa. As a foundation sponsor of BCA's event in Cape Town, AFL South Africa hosted a function attended by keynote speaker, Australian Federal Minister of Sport, Miss Kate Ellis.
