AUSTRALIANS
Australians have traditionally been involved with footy in South Africa as AVI volunteers (Australian Volunteers International), providing a steady stream of highly committed young Australians with a passion for the Aussie game and a willingness to make a difference. AFL South Africa is seeking to build further opportunities for committed young Aussies, under an expanded scheme that would allow short term placements for young Australians with a strong interest in community development, a love of the game, a passion for teaching and particularly those that have specific expertise in coaching and umpiring – keep watching this space for more information.
