25 year old Sisanda Fatyela from Khayelitsha is living proof that females can make a strong contribution in male dominated sports following her recent appointment to the post of footyWILD Development Manager for the KhayaPlains region in Cape Town.

Sisanda, affectionately known as coach KK by the footyWILD kids she trains has been part of the program as a volunteer since February last year.

Provincial Development Manager Vusi Madalane, who progressed to his current role from the position Sisanda now holds, has been impressed by Siyanda’s dedication to her adopted code, “KK has shown us how much she loved footyWILD even before her appointment - she was one of the most successful footyWILD Centre Managers in the Western Cape providing Khayelitsha Centre A with great leadership”.

Sisanda also participated in the inaugural AFL National Championships as the Assistant Coach for the footyWILD High school team becoming the first female coach at Provincial level.
