COSTA LOGISTICSâ?? FOOTYWILD ADVENTURE!

17th November, 2008

“The Costa Group continue to show their tremendous support of footyWILD in South Africa by doing it all again next year, this time a bit closer to home” - AFLSA Ambassador Mtutuzeli Hlomela

As pioneering partner of the footyWILD ‘BIG 5’ program and suppliers to the Pick’n’Pay chain in Gauteng Province, Australian company Costa Logistics are certainly no strangers to innovation.

In September 2007, the Costa Group provided the opportunity for one lucky footyWILD child to attend the AFL Grand Final at the MCG. “Nine year old Tshepo Raphiri and his teacher Peter Makgato from Alexandra township, were the lucky ones enjoying that particular adventure of a lifetime”, said AFLSA Ambassador Mtutuzeli Hlomela. “The Costa Group continue to show their tremendous support of footyWILD in South Africa by doing it all again next year, this time a bit closer to home”, added Mtutu.

Next February’s NAB Cup in Cape Town at Sahara Park, Newlands, will be the first time that two AFL Clubs have played for official points in South Africa. Costa Logistics and AFL South Africa are offering the opportunity for one lucky footyWILD child, their footyWILD teacher, volunteer and one parent to go to the game.

The Costa Logistics footyWILD ‘BIG 5’ Competition is an opportunity for all of the registered footyWILD boys and girls to illustrate in their own words and pictures what they like about footyWILD. One winner from each footyWILD centre will go into the draw to win the ultimate prize of a trip to Cape Town to watch the stars of AFL clubs Collingwood and West Coast Eagles do battle on Saturday February 7.

footyWILD ‘BIG 5’, where boys and girls aged 8-13 years learn the BIG 5 skills of Australian football, has grown from humble beginnings as a pilot initiative in Potchefstroom , to now cater for almost 10,000 participants across four Provinces. Over 5,600 also play Primary school competition every Friday afternoon, under the footyWILD Game Day banner.

Costa Logistics, who helped launch the footyWILD brand in April 2007, has watched the code evolve to a point where over 17,000 participants from 8 to open age are now engaged in “the new game that roars”.
